Han Fangming, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee and Chairman of the Charhar Institute, said at a conference on December 29th, 2019, that he was considering making a proposal on revising the provisions on "medical disturbance" so as to prevent further incidents during the coming “Two Sessions” of 2020.
Han said the development of medical work should be "People-centered", and he called on all in the society to respect medical workers who are dedicated to treating patients and saving the people.
Han made this remark when talking about a tragedy that recently took place in a hospital of Beijing in which a doctor named Yang Wen was cruelly killed during a “medical disturbance”.
Han emphasized that the kind of tragedy that had happened at the Beijing Civil Aviation General Hospital should not happen again.
